Length: 60-62 credits

Purpose: The curriculum is designed for the student who plans to complete a baccalaureate degree program. Students often select the general studies program if they intend to transfer to a four-year institution but are uncertain what their major will be. The transfer institution’s catalog and transfer guide are the best sources of information for planning a course of study. Final responsibility for transferability of courses rests with the student and the registrar of that institution. Contact the division dean or an advisor for additional information. 

Program Outcomes: A student will be able to:

  • locate, evaluate, interpret, and combine information to reach well-reasoned conclusions and solutions
  • express themselves effectively in a variety of written forms
  • calculate, interpret, and use numerical and quantitative information on a variety of settings
  • demonstrate the knowledge and values necessary to become informed and contributing participants in a democratic society
  • recognize and know how to apply the scientific method and evaluate empirical information
  • demonstrate skills important for successful transition into the workplace and/or pursuit of further education by way of professionalism and self-management practices and behavior

Advising Sheet Suggested Schedules: Courses in advising sheets are displayed under the semester in which the courses are regularly offered. It is possible that a course shown on the schedule for a particular semester may not be offered due to low enrollment or other factors. In addition, some courses are offered in both fall and spring semesters. Consult with an advisor when scheduling classes.
